Simpson’s Eagle Programmable Digital Meter Performs Reliably in both Harsh Outdoor and Industrial Environments
Lac du Flambeau, WI –The Simpson Eagle is a programmable digital meter with a reinforced fiberglass enclosure that protects the electronics from weather, harsh environmental conditions and cleaning operations. It is ideal for outdoor use in industries and applications including but not limited to farming, rock quarries, electrical equipment, solar arrays and electrical utility equipment, and in any industry in which a motor is used. It is equally well suited to operations in interior harsh environments from grain elevators and grain bins to industrial sites subject to frequent washdowns.
The Eagle meter is programmable to measure AC/DC voltage, AC current or frequency. The user programs the Eagle by computer via an included USB port and cable. The programming can create bar graphs and pre-set alarms that alert operators when an established parameter is out of range. It also can set configurable backlighting that colors the screen white, red or green to instantly indicate the state of the system being monitored. The screen incorporates a message board that displays 4-character custom messages, alarms and annunciators that keep the operator informed as to the state of the meter and the system it is monitoring.
The Eagle meter runs on main power of 100-240 VAC. It is field-configurable to use 120 VAC output to power sound or light alarms to immediately alert operators of problems. It can interact with other equipment using control relays, and is available with or without those relays. The Eagle is also available in a format enabling it to function as a rate and process meter.
The Eagle’s reinforced fiberglass enclosure is rated NEMA 3, 3R, 3S, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, IP68, and the meter is CE, UL and RoHS certified. It is designed to be wall-mounted in the area where it operates, whether indoor or outdoor or, with an adaptor, can be pole-mounted. The single meter enclosure measures 7.31 inches by 7.31 inches across the face and is 4.92 inches deep. Simpson also offers the option to mount several Eagle meters with different monitoring responsibilities within a single custom enclosure.
Typical lead time for delivery of a single Simpson Eagle meter is approximately one week. Customers requiring multi-meter enclosures should contact the company for delivery times.
